Olivet University students joined local Anza Christian churches for a heartfelt evening of worship at the United Praise Night, held at the Anza Community Hall. The event showcased worship teams from Living Hope Christian Fellowship, Anza Valley Christian Fellowship, Anza Valley Gospel, and Olivet University, each leading the audience in a series of inspiring praise performances.
Pastor Kevin Watson of Living Hope Christian Fellowship opened the evening by welcoming the packed community hall and introducing the worship teams. Pastors Mark Meer of Anza Valley Christian Fellowship and Jon Runnfeldt of Anza Valley Gospel co-hosted the event, offering prayers and sharing messages from Scripture between the musical performances.
The Olivet University students delivered a vibrant set of praise songs, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. Their participation marked a meaningful opportunity to gain real-world experience in worship leadership as part of their studies. Pastor Mark Meer concluded their performance with a prayer over the students, blessing their continued efforts in ministry.
“The local community has been very supportive, and we’re so thankful,” said Doson Kim, an Olivet University student who led the student group. “As I prepare and praise, it's very encouraging to perform in front of local church members who come together to praise God and worship as one.
United Praise Night, launched last year, is held every two months and aims to foster unity among Christians in Anza by bringing together members of various congregations. The event's growing popularity has consistently filled venues to capacity. Initially hosted outdoors at Anza Minor Park, the gathering moved indoors due to weather conditions, though organizers hope to return to the park during the warmer months.
With its uplifting performances and strong community spirit, United Praise Night continues to be a cherished event, strengthening bonds among local believers and inspiring shared worship experiences.
