Olivet University’s Art and Design College held meetings to map out the future space for its new art gallery. In collaboration and sponsorship with Olivet College of Journalism Dean and former Olivet University president Dr. David Randolph, the new space will be named the David Randolph Art Center.
“I am so excited to open this art center at riverside campus. I’m thank you for Dr. David Randolph’s contribution and passion for the arts. His great heart for art and technology always encourages people to explore participation within their environment by living in art,” said OCAD director Diana Yoo.
Both faculty and students will collaborate on conceptualizing and renovating the new gallery.
“I am very thankful that I can contribute to building a new art center. I have many idea to share with our faculty and fellow students and very joyful to work together on this. I’m looking forward to the opening of this art center. I know new students will definitely enjoy this space and learn many things,” said student Rhoda Xie.
The future space will be primarily used for art exhibitions, workshops, classes, and house a dedicated online art & design resource center. No opening date has been confirmed but an approximate timeline suggests sometime next quarter.
