San Francisco, CA – Olivet University announced that it would be moving its current Scotts Valley, CA location back to the San Francisco, CA campus. Approval was given by the ABHE accrediting agency for the move, and preparations will begin immediately to offer minimal disruptions to the Winter 2013 academic quarter.
During the time that Olivet University was operating out of Scotts Valley, the original San Francisco campus served as an extension campus, offering onsite courses for the Olivet College of Art & Design and Olivet Institute of Technology. All of the facilities are still in place, and moving back is expected to be a smooth transition.
Many of Olivet University's original faculty members live in or nearby the San Francisco location. Students and staff have been given information on transitioning from the Scott Valley dormitories into apartments located in the San Francisco area. Olivet encourages all staff and students to complete the move before the start of its Fall 2013 quarter.
University President Dr. William Wagner addressed the move to faculty, staff, and students through an official email. After a separate related property acquisition deal fell through, the University was unable to expand Olivet's capacity needed to handle the expected number of enrolled students in upcoming years, undercutting the rationale for taking over the Bethany campus location.
The University is currently providing support and advisors to assist with the transition back to San Francisco. Questions in regards to the move from faculty, staff, or students are being directed to the school and its media department.
If you have any questions regarding the move, please can contact info@olivetuniversity.edu.
