The Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies successfully concluded a week-long series of oral defense sessions for the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) Program, marking the culmination of the 2024–25 academic year.
10 DMin candidates from diverse ministry backgrounds took part in the defenses. Each session, lasting approximately 90 minutes, included a candidate presentation followed by a Q&A and evaluation conducted by the doctoral committee.
Representing diverse concentrations such as Education, Mission, Business, Youth Ministries, and Design, the candidates addressed timely and innovative topics related to Christian faith and ministry. Several focused on developing new strategies for evangelism and mission to advance the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
DMin candidate Alma Osorio-Ford presented effective communication strategies for the evangelizing Generation Z, drawing on her extensive experience in campus ministry. Dr. Tom Cowley, Director of the DMin Program, commended the students for the exceptional quality of their work.
Reflecting on her journey, DMin candidate Olivia Lin — whose research focuses on Business as Mission — expressed deep gratitude: “As I looked back, my heart was filled with thanksgiving. Though I had many weaknesses, God’s grace sustained me. Prayer was the central theme throughout—from the decision to begin the program to the writing of my final paper.”
