Orientation Prepares Students for Spring Semester

February 05, 2009

Olivet University welcomed incoming students for the Spring 2009 semester during orientation last week.

The orientation, which is coordinated through the Office of Student Affairs, aims at helping incoming students adjust to life at the University. The program also includes special activities intended to help develop and maintain a sense of community among students.

A series of speakers addressed the student body during this semester's orientation, which ran from January 28-29. A team of advisors and mentors also participated in the events to answer questions and provide one-on-one guidance about the university's programs and services.

"Students new to Olivet University are excited with anticipation for a fruitful experience here" said Kelly Lim, assistant director in the Office of Student Affairs. "It's encouraging to see these future Christian leaders develop a sense of belonging during this orientation period," she added.

Orientation is mandatory for first-year and new transfer students, and recommended for all students, who begin classes next week.
