Recent donations to the Olivet College of Journalism (OCJ) and Olivet College of Art & Design (OCAD) libraries are stirring excitement in the student community. Both new and classical titles have been acquired specifically to match the course offerings within the OCJ and OCAD curriculum.
OCJ Professor Dr. William Alnor recently made a generous gift to the College of Journalism from his personal library collection. The donation will support the library in a critical subject area of news reporting and writing. Dr. Alnor's hope is that these books will improve the professional development of students needing those skills for their field of work.
The College of Art & Design Library has received a large donation of books in the subject area of Art History. The books were donated from a local art company with the hope that the College will train students to be more aware of the rich history of the field they are being trained in.
The new books have already been cataloged into the libraries and students in both colleges have already begun to use it for their studies. Initial feedback from the acquisitions has been positive with students appreciative of the additional resources available to them.
