OIT Students Intensify Network Research

November 27, 2008

A series of Olivet Institute of Technology (OIT) seminars has recently featured students' presentation on network topics, varying from switch and DSL cables to OpenNet simulation. Student presentations are the result of research efforts within the networks course taught by OIT Dean, Dr. Cheng Ching Lee.

Students have shown a great interest in the presentation and follow up discussion topics have included the University's own network system. The research and discussions have all contributed to student understanding of theory learned in the classroom.

"This research activity is a great opportunity for students to master network knowledge in real world environment," reflected one of the student on the research team.

This year, OIT faculty has put a more concerted effort into promoting a research atmosphere within the college and providing students with more academic opportunities.
