March 12, 2008

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Olivet College of Art & Design (OCAD) faculty and students soon will have more computers at their fingertips after the completion of a Mac Lab technology facility.

Olivet University has partnered with Apple Inc. to give students and faculty access to a state-of-the-art Macintosh computer lab. Each computer will be connected fully to the campus mainframe, and will be equipped with a variety of software, including software to support the graphic design studies and research projects.

"The Mac Lab has provided an opportunity for more of our faculty and students to access the technology necessary to be successful in their classes and research at Olivet," said OCAD Director and Ginturn Tran.

The addition of the Mac Lab, located in the heart of the main campus, is also intended to provide students with more opportunities to further their education through the use of technological resources, while facilitating the best possible management of their time, according to Mr. Tran.

The Mac Lab is slated to open for general use before the new term.
