Olivet University welcomes incoming students for the Spring 2008 semester during orientation this week.
The orientation is aimed at helping incoming students adjust to life at university. The program is also intended to help develop and maintain a sense of community.
"As they gear up for college they're also learning how to get around a city campus, budget time and finances without parent supervision, and establish healthy spiritual and social lives while adjusting to their study loads" said Kelly Lim, assistant director in the Office of Student Affairs.
Olivet University's orientation, which runs through Feb. 1, has programs for welcoming both on-campus and online students to the university community. A team of advisors and mentors have also been available to answer questions about the university's programs and services, and to respond to student expectations and concerns.
First-year and newly incoming students must attend orientation before they can attend classes, which begin on Feb. 4.
