Olivet University is training faculty members to meet the needs of tomorrow's classrooms.
On October 10, Olivet faculty members will have the opportunity to receive intensive training with an hour-long session on best practices for integrating technology in the classroom. The university will follow up on this session of the technology program with evaluations of technology use among the faculty, as well as staff and students.
Since Olivet first opened the formal training program two years ago it has experienced tremendous success. While participation was optional, now nearly every member of the faculty, student and staff communities will take advantage of the technology training, said William Wong, the University's Director of Information Systems.
"We are working to ensure that the entire Olivet community has a quality experience using technology in the classroom and workplace" Wong said.
The latest curriculum updates also emphasize elements of technology use and information literacy among students, and are being monitored for effectiveness alongside program activities.
