Olivet Greets New Semester with Language School

August 03, 2007

Olivet University is following through with plans to open Olivet Language School in September.

The Language School will offer English language programs at different levels, including intensive ESL, in addition to foreign language instruction. Courses will be available to all members of the University student community.

Supporters say Olivet Language School is an outgrowth of the University's mission to educate students for effective mission and ministry.

Completed last spring, the Language School will provide a number of state-of-the-art technologies to help students learn a new language, including interactive video-computer programs in French, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. In these programs the user participates with characters on video through a computer, affecting the outcome of the story while developing language skills and gaining cultural experience.

Olivet Language School will also offer a number of basic language courses in digital format.
