Several Olivet College of Art & Design (OCAD) students gained experience working side-by-side with professional designers at this year's graduation event. Olivet University commissioned two OCAD students to collaborate with professional designers providing design services for Commencement 2007.
Projects for this year's ceremony called for a variety of tasks, including interior design, graphic design, lighting configuration, and color coordination. Students assisting these projects worked under professional guidance to apply skill sets learned in color theory and graphic design courses for the presentation of stage and printed materials.
Project manager Diana Yoo, commended the students as "quick learners, with many ideas that gave life to the environment."
After months of preparation, the finished presentation was received favorably by the Olivet University community that convened in Olivet Chapel Friday, June 15 for this year's commencement exercises.
