IT lectures prepare students for new era of ministry

November 15, 2006

A new lecture series entitled "Internet Programming" is being taught at Olivet University through its College of Information Technology. OCIT Professor Jane Kwon will focus on developing fundamental internet programming skills for application in an ever-expanding internet and network-savvy world.

"We hope that this lecture series will be a launching point to get students interested in networks and especially internet security," Professor Kwon commented.  "As Christians are working in new fields on the internet, having qualified network security specialists will be crucial."

Although the lecture is being offered to students in the College of Information Technology, a number of interested listeners have signed up to audit the course since it began at the beginning of the Fall Semester.  The lecture will conclude in January 2007.
