Olivet University Names First Chancellor

July 14, 2006

San Francisco, CA -- David J. Jang, PhD., Founder and former President of Olivet University, was named Chancellor of the University (July 4). The incoming Chancellor was appointed by the Board of Directors at its specially scheduled meeting in San Francisco June 30 and July 1, soon after the succession of his presidency by President-Elect David J. Randolph at the same meeting.

Former President Jang will take offices as Olivet University's inaugural Chancellor. His appointment will become effective July 17, following a campus ceremony for the installation of the newly elected President.

Incoming Chancellor Jang will continue to aid the school with development and student recruitment in his new position. Earlier in the year, Jang announced his intention to retire from the presidency in order to pursue his passion for mission-field work more actively.
