February 15, 2006

On Tuesday February 14 at 5 p.m. (PST), the 2006 Spring Opening Convocation for Olivet University (OU) was held at the school's on-campus chapel, located in downtown San Francisco in the presence of staff, faculty, and many new and returning students.

Following the musical selection performed by students from the Jubilee College of Music, President Dr. David J. Jang delivered a warm presidential welcome address where he shared two of inspiring verses from the Bible, Psalms 66:16 and 1 Peter 3:15.

"What is more important than thinking about what we are going to do for God, is meditating on what God has bestowed on us. I hope this will be a precious semester where you can prepare to give the reason to the ones who ask about your faith," said Dr. Jang.

Dr. William Lyle Wagner, the Dean of Olivet Theological College and Seminary (OTCS) delivered this semester's convocation address.

The ceremony ended with an uplifting benediction given by Dr. Joseph Ray Tallman, the Director of Middle East Missions of OTCS. Photograph session and the widely attended reception followed the event.
