On Oct. 22, a shipment of approximately 10,000 Korean-language books arrived at Olivet University. The shipment, which departed from Korea on July 30 and arrived at the Port of San Francisco, was made possible with help from Olivet University ministry partners.
The arrival of the Korean-language books, which were packed into 254 boxes, marks the official launch of the long-awaited "Asian Library" at Olivet University. Shared one staff member "Everyone praises God for the safe arrival of these books that will feed the minds of God people at Olivet University. We will do our best to make a wonderful Asian Library."
Library developers at the university are also planning for the addition of 7,000 Chinese- and Japanese-language books in early November.
The library facilities at Olivet University are being redesigned to house a central library of 60,000 - 80,000 English-language volumes on the first floor Olivet's main campus building. The Asian libraries will occupy the lower level floors.
