Faculty and administrative leaders gathered for Olivet University’s annual leadership retreat August 12-13 to share vision and future plans at San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville, California.
The focus of this year's retreat was strategic planning in preparation for the release of the University’s next 5-year plan. During his opening message, University President Dr. William Wagner also described the retreat as a time for prayer and thoughtful reflection about Olivet’s future.
Formal presentations, fellowship events, worship activities, and prayer meetings marked the two-day event. University leaders also reviewed assessment reports from the University's constituencies and held focus group discussions about the University's values, vision, mission and priorities.
In his closing message, Dr. Wagner delivered a message from Luke 10 exhorting leaders to stay focused on Jesus Christ in all of their works at Olivet University. "The most basic part of our faith is our love for Jesus Christ. He must be first in our lives, because our primary purpose is lifting up His name."
The retreat garnered high praise from attendees, who confirmed their commitment to University's mission and worked together whole-heartedly to complete each of the meeting’s planning activities. Sub-committee meetings have been scheduled over the next several months for the purpose of continued discussions and goal-setting in priority areas of the University.
