This age witnessed rapid growth and deployment of machine learning applications in computer vision, natural language understanding, and speech processing. There is a common demand to compress machine learning models to run on edge devices such as mobile phones, embedded circuits, and Arduino-powered hardware to achieve real-time inference.
Olivet Institute of Technology is holding an onsite technical workshop for faculty and students at the San Francisco Campus to introduce the lightweight machine learning framework, Tensorflow Lite, allowing it to work on various edge devices. Demos are also made to demonstrate that Tensorflow Lite can compress the original model size to 8% without losing model accuracy.
The ongoing series of machine learning workshops will be offered for future quarters. Students may contact their program director to sign up or find more information.
