Business and IT Fuse during AdTech Week

April 12, 2013

IT students from Olivet University's Information Technology College participated in the AdTech conference held at San Francisco's Moscone Center.  AdTech attracted marketing and technology professionals from around the globe.  Through the given platform and meetings, they were able to connect, learn, and network with each other.

Through 20 hours of in-depth and classroom-style sessions, students received a basic run-down on how marketing, technology, and media work together in this expanding industry. The trends of ad activities are becoming more entwined with society and social media.  Through the conference, participants caught a glimpse of new trends in the industry along with seeing the creative power that can be utilized for new advertising methods and combining it into mobile ecosystems.

Lecturers from technology giants and start-ups both contributed into their instructive perception. From the keynotes, it was predicted that while programmatic ads has made the process of ads more targeted and efficient, there are further trends to be more customized, individualized, voluntary, interactive and beautiful and measured in various ways.

With knowledge of the trends within the international ad industry, both Olivet University's IT and Business students are looking into new way on how the industry can continue tapping into the creativity of technology and its use to benefit the industry.
